Taj restaurant was established in the year 1987. The restaurant was introduced by Mr Tajudeen a.k.a. Taj and widely famous in the small town of Kuantan. Their very famous and mouth watering cendol recipe were passed down from 3 generations whom begin their business having a hawker stall ‘cendol’. Mr. Taj is very passionate about the food as he tastes each food everyday and ensures the dishes are flavoursome before serving to his beloved customers. Taj opened his very first shop in the heart of Kuantan and received a best restaurant award for his service, variety of delicious dishes along with generous amount of serving, in the year 1996. Their ‘Nasi Biryani Ayam’ and ‘Kari Kepala Ikan’ are known as their signature dish until today. Taj restaurant not only fulfils your cravings but they also cater to your local taste buds.

How did weStart?

In 1985, Mr.Tajudeen (Mr. Taj) decided to open the first branch called ‘NEW TAJ’ in the centre of Kuantan, Pahang. In the beginning, we started with very few dishes and our ‘Nasi Briyani’’ and ‘Kari Kepala Ikan’ gained popularity in a short period of time. Since the response from the locals was overwhelming, we opened our second branch right behind New Taj in 1996. Moreover, receiving ‘The Best Restaurant’ Award in the same year has been a good start to our business.

Hence, Mr. Taj decided to pursue his MBA to enhance his soft skills like adaptive thinking and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, Mr. Taj has been dedicating all his enthusiasm and efforts in order to grow the business. He constantly focuses on quality of food and service and makes sure the dishes are flavoursome before serving to his beloved customers.

Our ‘Nasi Biryani Ayam’ and ‘Kari Kepala Ikan’ are known as our signature dishes until today. Taj restaurant not only fulfils your cravings but we also cater to your local taste buds. Therefore, Taj Maju Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in 2002 as a private company in order to achieve success in this Food and Beverages industry.
